Being from the Midwest, I had my preconceived ideas about New York City. Some were good. Many were bad. Fortunately, I have been able to visit New York City three times on some group travel experiences. I thoroughly enjoyed it each time and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
My first time to NYC, was on a trip with my high school band program. My school’s choir director had traveled there several times with her groups and highly recommended the trip to me. She suggested I travel with her group the next time they went. I told her I would pitch the trip to my students and parents and see what happened. I was surprised by the major interest level from the group and mostly how many parents wanted to go. I had never had so many parents volunteer to chaperone a band trip before.
With the opportunity available, I knew I had to take my family on this trip. They were hesitant, but I told them they may never get the opportunity again and they needed to go. Dad won that argument! When all was said and done, they were glad they had gone on the trip. They all agreed that their favorite part of the trip was seeing Wicked on Broadway. That’s a great musical! I’ll share more of my experiences in the upcoming weeks.
