The Quarantine Is Lifting

We are starting to see the loosening of restrictions and there appears to be a mix of reactions to the changes.  Some people are already out in full swing and others still have concerns about going out in public.  Depending on where you fall on that spectrum will determine your approach to planning any travel.

If you are someone that is ready to get away on a vacation, there are several things you need to take into consideration. There are plenty of accommodations available for booking and many people are booking those trips.  Realize when you get to your destination, you will likely encounter closed stores and restaurants and/or shortened hours. Don’t expect everything to be as before.  I think most people realize that and are planning accordingly.

Many travel providers are announcing startup dates.  Caribbean resorts plan to open to travelers in July and have plans for safety in place.   European countries are starting to open more businesses and have announced opening dates for allowing tourist travel.  Some cruise lines are planning to begin operating in August with limited sailings in select locations to ensure their new safety plans are effective. Major theme parks like Disney and Universal are already beginning to open their entertainment districts and dining districts.  I anticipate park opening dates will be announced in the very near future.

I have to admit there were many blessings that came from the quarantine, such as spending time with family and a much less hectic lifestyle.  But I am definitely excited to see re-openings of travel destinations and look forward to going myself.  As long as we travel with reasonable expectations, it will still be possible to have great travel experiences.  And based on what I am seeing and hearing, many people are ready to go places again.
