So, a couple weeks ago, I wrote about how I was excited about my upcoming travels. Well, my school travel groups have been cancelled, so I won’t be seeing New York City and Washington DC. I was really looking forward to those trips and all the fascinating sights that are part of them.
But I have a couple more trips that are still in the works provided we get through this time of social distancing before then. I still have hopes of taking a group on an Alaskan cruise in June. I have been looking forward to that trip for over a year. My trip to Disneyland with my son in July is still in play and hopefully everything will have settled before that. If either of those are cancelled, I’ll just have to come up with something different. These times are difficult and there have been a lot of disappointments, but I’ve seen a lot of good come from this too. While taking a walk through our neighborhood with my family, I encountered multiple families taking walks or playing games in their yards. I can honestly say I have not seen that in a very long time. I truly feel Americans are regaining a sense of priorities. Let’s take advantage of this time of slowing and reflecting to use it to make our country stronger and better than ever before.
