When I was starting my travel business, one of the first things I had to do was come up with a name.  I wanted to sell vacations that I was familiar with so I could be helpful to my clients.  My parents were very much beach lovers and the vast majority of our vacations were to Florida beaches.  We also did Virginia Beach and Myrtle Beach for a couple vacations as a change of pace.  When I married Kathy, she introduced me to the Carolina beaches of Kiawah and Seabrook Island for our honeymoon.  After discovering these awesome Carolina beaches, we took our young family to Hilton Head Island and found that to be a great family experience.  So, you could say beaches are in my DNA.

         During several of my childhood family vacations, we visited Disney World when we went to Florida. That is where I acquired my love for everything Disney.  That continues to this day.  If I travel to Florida, I always feel Disney calling me even if I’m not in Orlando.  If I am in Orlando, I have to do something Disney, even if it is just stopping at Disney Springs for an afternoon.

         Later in life, I got the bug to take a cruise.  After my first cruise experience, I knew I wanted to do more.  The all-inclusiveness of the experience was well worth the expense to me.  The service provided is also of great value on a cruise.  Your cabin is cleaned, and the bed is made by incredibly friendly staff.  The food is delicious and conveniently set up on a buffet or served to you by your hard-working wait staff that you get to know your dining preferences very well during the cruise. You actually get spoiled by all the service on a cruise vacation and it’s hard to return to normal life. 

         So, with all these experiences and interests, I found it very natural for me to base my business around these types of vacations.  Why did I call my business Sunny Destinations Travel?  Because I like sunny destinations!
