I am rapidly approaching my busy travel season with a combination of escorting school groups and my own personal travels. My school group trips include two trips to Washington DC. One will actually involve flying to DC with a middle school group and the other will be a 5th grade elementary school trip with 4 buses of students and parent chaperones. I always enjoy visiting our nation’s capital and get to see something new and different every time I go. It never gets old seeing all the magnificent national monuments. And a visit to Arlington National Cemetery is always an incredibly moving experience.
My other school trip will be with a high school band to New York City. I am always fascinated by the sights and activities in NYC. It is a collection of history, entertainment, museums, architecture, spectacular views and dining experiences. It truly is the city that never sleeps and I’m looking forward to seeing it again.
My other personal trips include a trip to Disneyland, California. I will be meeting up with my son, Tim, after he finishes a work-related convention in Anaheim. We are going to spend a couple days together enjoying the Disney Parks. We also plan to meet up with my cousin and his wife who live near San Diego. Then we are planning to take a day driving up the California coast on our way to Los Angeles airport to catch our redeye flight back home that evening.
But my most exciting trip will be with Kathy on our first Alaskan Cruise. I am leading my own group that includes friends and relatives that have booked their cruise through me. I’m looking forward to 7 nights seeing Alaska’s natural beauty, culture and history. We will stop at several coastal cities as well as viewing glaciers in Glacier Bay and College Fjord. That will be followed by 4 days on land at Denali National Park and Anchorage, Alaska. I have another Alaskan Cruise Group set up for June 5, 2021 if you would like to join us next year!
